I would like to present arguments for the following thesis: that the lack of recognition of the transcendent (or spiritual or supernatural) dimension of the human person in the social sciences means that they miss an element that is essential to their own consistency and integrity and leaves them too incomplete and ineffective in the face of the problems we currently face.
Starting from a theological framing provided by St John Paul II, and a parallel framing from a political point of view on the part of Robert Schuman, we will discuss this thesis using material from Luigi Sturzo and Arthur Fridolin Utz.

Vorrei presentare alcune argomentazioni a sostegno della seguente tesi: il mancato riconoscimento della dimensione trascendente (o spirituale o soprannaturale) della persona umana nelle scienze sociali comporta la perdita di un elemento essenziale per la loro coerenza e integrità, rendendole troppo incomplete e inefficaci di fronte ai problemi che attualmente dobbiamo affrontare. 
Partendo da un quadro teologico fornito da San Giovanni Paolo II e da un quadro parallelo dal punto di vista politico da parte di Robert Schuman, discuteremo questa tesi utilizzando materiale di Luigi Sturzo e Arthur Fridolin Utz.
