Abstract

Short bio

Gábor L. Ambrus is a research fellow in the Faculty of Social Sciences. He completed his PhD in Systematic Theology at K.U. Leuven in 2014. From his doctoral studies onwards, he has dedicated many years of research to media studies and the philosophy of technology. Gábor’s primary research interest is a theological-philosophical interpretation of the human condition as defined by contemporary technology and science. He is author of  “From the Golem to Freedom: A Study on Technology and Religion”, London: Bloomsbury 2024. He led the Research Project “Human Freedom in the Age of Artificial Intelligence” at FASS (2022-2025) and he is currently involved in the new Research Project “Artificial Intelligence and Contemporary Culture” at FASS (2025-2028).
